The 'Our Far South' mascot 'Shackleton Bear is going on a study tour (with some scientists and educationalists) to explore climate change, biodiversity, territorial rights, fishing, tourism and mineral resources in Antarctica in February and March 2012. Students and teachers can follow and interact via the website ourfarsouth.org/education
Our Far South is running a schools competition aimed to engage New
Zealand school children with the voyage, encouraging them to follow the
expedition and learn more about Our Far South. It is open for all
students from 5 to 18 years.
