Day 283 Our first Pinenuts from Petey's Pinenut tree
It was very exciting today to discover that our 7 year old Pinenut tree is growing its first pinenuts!
It has had a checkered past where the first one was run over with the lawnmower by Uncle Peter. He replaced it with this one and every year we all look at it carefully for signs of cones, and here it is today. Uncle Peter will be very happy when he comes to visit in December.

Day 278 Seedlings
Phil found this ingenious idea for growing from seeds, use toilet rolls. Easy to transplant without disturbing the roots. The roll eventually decomposes into the dirt.

My daughter has decided that she is too old for Winnie the Pooh so he has set up residence in the spare room!
